Cock Ring - How-To Guide

What is a cock ring, exactly?  They are devices meant to circle the penis and testicles, providing a feeling of tightness and compression that many men enjoy. Cock rings may extend an erection and deliver an enhanced orgasm to some.  Some men enjoy wearing cock rings for masturbation, or the cock ring can be used with a partner. The squeeze of the cock ring around the penis restricts blood from flowing out of the penis, and this increases the size and period of erections. An erection will sometimes become more sensitive while a cock ring is being worn, and can even delay ejaculation (though not all the time, as some men may feel more aroused from the contraction and ejaculate faster than usual).

Some cock ring models may include a clitoral tickler built to stimulate the clitoris, vulva or anus during sex. Other models vibrate to stimulate both partners.  Some cock rings are actual rings of metal and rubber, and so the right size needs to be chosen for a correct fit. Adjustable rings made of rawhide or leather straps are easier for beginners to use, since the fit can be changed, and taking them off is more manageable.

One of our best selling cock rings is known as the Screaming O – the Big O Vibrating Ring. It is designed with a specially enhanced silicone gel ring, and stimulates the clitoris with extended ticklers for reaching extended orgasm, and also effectively prolongs the length and firmness of the male erection.

Cock rings fit over the penis shaft and the testicles/scrotum when a man is not erect. Ball by ball, the testicles go through, and then the penis is inserted through the remaining ring space.  Some men prefer to wear a ring just around the base of their penis, in front of their balls, although that is less effective. The most important thing to remember when applying a solid cock-ring is that you need to slip through one testicle at a time, and then push your cock into the ring. If a single testicle is too difficult to fit into the ring than it’s not the right fit, or maybe not the right thing for you. Lubricant should be used on the ring, penis and testicles. The ideal cock ring stays in place when the penis is soft, yet it can fairly easily slip off or unsnap when the penis is hard.

Choosing a Cock Ring

There are several factors to consider when choosing a cock ring. Is the ring meant just for enhancing your erection, or do you want to pleasure your partner as well? Does budget play a role here?

For beginners, the stretchy cock rings may be the best bet, as they can be adjusted and removed during use. They will usually fit any penis size. A cock ring set of simple rings of different sizes may be a good way to determine the right size.

Cock rings that vibrate have become very popular, as they have a part that pleasures the clitoris or testicles – or both at the same time.

Solid cock rings are not adjustable, and so it is important to users to know their proper size in advance to ensure the right fit. To measure yourself for these cock rings, a cloth measuring tape is useful. After obtaining an erection, wrap the measuring tape behind your testicles and tightly around the top of your penis. Keep the tape tight to your body. This will enable you to properly determine the right size. Most solid cock rings are sized by their interior diameters, so you’ll need to take your measurement and divide it by 3.14 to find the right circumference for you.

Safe sex play with cock rings is important. Never leave the cock ring on for more than 20-30 minutes, as it can create numbness and other serious medical problems, such as damaging the veins in the penis and scrotum. If you ever feel pain, discomfort or numbness, take the cock ring off immediately. Do not use the cock ring as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, and do not wear a cock ring if you are taking any blood thinning medication. Do not use the ring if you have diabetes or any nerve/blood ailments. Do not go to sleep with it on and do not use any “homemade” cock rings. Remove the cock ring immediately if there is any pain or loss of feeling. If there are any concerns, please contact your doctor.

Use plenty of lubricant on the ring and on all parts of you that the ring will come in contact with. Trim any hair that may cause snagging. Make sure that it is not catching or rubbing against condoms.

When finished with your cock ring, temporarily remove any batteries. Clean the ring with anti-bacterial soap and water.
